Distinguished Service Award – Dorene Sherman

Dorene Sherman

Distinguished Service Award Recipient

The “Distinguished service award” is awarded to an individual for outstanding contributions to the Bellevue-Offutt community and has been given annually since 1964.

Each year we get the opportunity to honor someone whose career and commitment to the community fully embodies the elements of “distinguished service.”  Tonight we honor a woman who dedicated over 40 years of her life working at Offutt air force base and continues to be active today as a volunteer. She is seen daily volunteering and giving of herself throughout the Bellevue offutt community and the omaha metro area. You might run into to her at the bellevue little theatre, the durham museum, the rose theater, the mormon trail center or maybe lauritzen gardens. she has been recognized as volunteer of the year, ambassador of the year and is a lifetime member of the bellevue chamber. She always wears a smile on her face and is there to offer a helping hand.

On behalf of the bellevue chamber board of directors it is my distinct pleasure to present Dorene Sherman with this year’s distinguished service award as an outstanding community leader with passion, integrity and vision who continues to serve the community with conviction, determination and insight.
