Committees
The chamber welcomes and encourages its members to actively participate in various activities of the organization. A good way to get involved is to volunteer for committee work. Descriptions of many committees are below: Please call the office 402-898-3000 to discuss participating in one of our committees.
Education – Workforce Development Committee
Chairperson: Mary Hawkins
Co-Chair: Jeff Rippe
Purpose: Advancing economic prosperity requires a strong partnership between the business community and education leaders. This committee works to bridge the gap between education and business, ensuring a more qualified, ready to work employee base.
Military & Government Affairs Committee
Chairperson: Jim Janicki
Co-Chair: Michelle Thornhill
Purpose: Support activities that protect and enhance the military installation in Bellevue and improve the quality of life for military families in the region. Address issues at the local, state, and federal level to encourage protection and enhancement of Offutt AFB. Collaborate with business executives, industry professionals and government officials to advance ideas, policies and legislation that benefits the broader business community. This committee also serves to keep chamber members informed on emerging government affairs and public policy issues at the local and state levels.
Economic Development Committee
Chairperson: Joshua Sullivan
The primary role is to determine the optimum ways through which the Bellevue Chamber of Commerce can support and enhance economic development initiatives. Investigate and evaluate ways to leverage the city’s economic development.
Membership Development & Engagement Committee
Chairperson: Amanda Andrews
Serves as a resource to all Bellevue Chamber of Commerce members by connecting with them, communicating engagement opportunities, and working with each member to identify which opportunities best fit their objectives by helping them determine ways to maximize their membership. The committee will also actively seek new members and assist in following up with prospects and new members.
Community Development Committee
Chairperson: Rusty Hike
The Community Development Committee will be the catalyst for coordinating activities to improve the community and quality of life in the greater Bellevue-Offutt area. The committee will develop and promote strategies for creating “branding images” that enhance the community along with programs that support community engagement such as sports tournaments, RiverFest, Old Towne Christmas and Bellevue Young Professionals.
Professional Development Committee
Chairperson: Matt Ricchini
The Professional Development Committee plans and executes programs on which the chamber can assist its members in becoming better professional employees and employers. The committee reviews entire membership needs and develops their potential through training and seminars.
