What’s Red,White and Que all over? The Nebraska State BBQ Championship and Music Festival.

Marinades, rubs, grills and smokers are king during the annual barbecue showdown at Haworth Park. The cook off, which draws more than 70 insanely serious contestants and throngs of spectators is a point of the RiverFest weekend. The contestants come with one purpose: To prepare the best barbeque in the state and the coveted “Nebraska State BBQ Champion Award.”

RiverFest is a regional festival featuring a day and a half of food, fun and entertainment all on the beautiful Missouri River. Friday night will feature Blue Rock Boulevard, 112 NorthDuck, and Ken Valdez on the main stage. Saturday attendees can run the RiverFest 5K, enjoy the pancake man, the KidZone, Beardmore Chevrolet Car Shine & Show, Iron Chef Competition, Karaoke Contest, feature Dirty Secret Band and the Groove Puppets on the main stage to name just a few. The festival is topped off with an amazing fireworks show.
