How to Get Involved
The Bellevue Chamber maintains the following standing groups which are designed
to implement the Chamber's mission and goals. Each committee is chaired by a board
member, board and membership participation. Members of the Bellevue Chamber are
encouraged to get involved.
Through a variety of committees and task forces, more than 275 volunteers help carry
out the Chamber's mission and business plan for creating the best possible environment
for Bellevue. Each committee is lead by a volunteer chair person selected yearly
by the Chair of the Board.
Economic Development Council
Purpose: The purpose of the Bellevue Economic Development Council is to attract
new primary business and industry to Bellevue and support the retention, growth
and expansion of existing businesses. Responsibilities: Space Symposium, Strategic
Space, Defense Contractor Career Fair, Economic Forecast Lunch
Membership Task Force
The Membership Task Force is a committee made up of Bellevue Chamber members and
chaired the incoming Board Chair. The Membership Task Force functions as the catalyst
for all things related to membership recruitment and retention. Responsibilities:
The Ambassador Program, Member enhancement programs, member recruitment and retention,
Small Business Awards Lunch, B2B lunches, Women In Leadership Lunch (WILL), Cup
O’ Contacts, Business @fter Hours
Military Affairs Council
The MAC is a committee made up of the leading business and elected officials in
the Bellevue area. The MAC functions as a liaison and support group between the
local military and business communities, implementing programs that provide greater
interaction between DOD/military personnel and Chamber members and also promotes
and sustains growth of the DOD presence in the Bellevue area. The MAC hosts a variety
of events throughout the year that honor and promote military and community service.
Responsibilities: State of Stratcom, Salute to the Bellevue/Offutt Community, Military
Relations Golf Scramble, Veterans Parade, Operation Holiday Cheer, Quarters 13 Reception,
issues advocacy such as BRAC and mission additions
Leadership Bellevue
A dynamic, progressive community requires leadership of the highest order. Leadership
Bellevue identifies people who are emerging leaders within the Bellevue area and
offers them a broad range of exposure to issues vital to the community. Through
contact with a variety of experts, participants expand their leadership skills,
knowledge, and influence on their community. LB is an educational forum, which includes
interaction with other members of the class, guest speakers and the area’s top decision-makers
— people who are shaping the Bellevue of tomorrow. It is an opportunity to develop
an understanding of how Bellevue works and to build a network that encompasses the
many aspects of our community's affairs. Responsibilities: Organize and implement
the LB program which includes a legislative trip and reception to Lincoln, community
tours and business education; the Business Success Institute, Partners In Excellence
Lunch, and the chambers professional development series
Government Affairs
The Government Affairs Task Force is designed to advocate on behalf of the Bellevue/Offutt
Community on any and all issues relevant to the economic vitality of the community,
while creating opportunities to promote relationships, coalitions and possibilities.
The Government Affairs Task Force stays current on legislative issues and proposes
resolutions to the Bellevue Chamber Board of Directors. Responsibilities: Legislative
Reception, Inaugural Dinner, Meet the Candidate forums, advocacy on issues such
as LB478 - Military Pension Taxation Exemption, military housing as a separate class
of exempt property, one city one school etc.
RiverFest
A regional community event designed to draw attention to the Bellevue/Offutt Community.
Individuals wishing to participate in the planning and implementation of RiverFest

Ambassador
The Bellevue Chamber Ambassador’s are the “First Responders” to businesses expanding
in Eastern Sarpy County.

Chambers nationwide utilize Ambassadors as an extension of their mission. Ambassadors
are the goodwill and hospitality arm of the Chamber. Bellevue Chamber Ambassadors
visit members, welcome new businesses, support Chamber events, help recruit and
retain members, act as greeters and volunteer on chamber committees. The Bellevue
Chamber Ambassadors are the Chamber’s hospitality team promoting the Bellevue Chamber
and the businesses they represent. They are a group of community leaders who support
the mission of the chamber and believe in community involvement.
The process of becoming a Bellevue Chamber Ambassador is simple with only two requirements.
First, your business or the business you represent must be a member of the Bellevue
Chamber of Commerce. Second, fill out the application and return it to the Bellevue
